- A pan of B-Ray, because it’s awesome and (so far,) completely un-dupeable.
- Annabelle’s SkinTrue Golden Glow bronzer, mentioned and swatched here and here, because it’s a fabulous matte-or-pearled bronzer, and because summer’s finally starting to set in! Note: this has been swatched for theNotice, but has since been sanitized thorougly and is still in its box.
- A bar of Men+Care soap, because it smells good and needs some love.
- Etude House’s Tint Chou, because I have too many lip products and never use it! Note: this too has been swatched for theNotice using a clean cotton swab, though the post hasn’t gone up yet.
- Also, I have a bunch of other gently used and new items lying around that I’m too lazy to list off. If it fits in the envelope, I may throw more stuff in. So if you do win, please let me know if you’re not interested in extras!
- First and foremost, you must be a follower. But I mean, you saw that one coming, non? ;)
- Leave me a comment, and in it tell me what your favourite blue shadow is. Extra brownie points if it’s navy blue!
- For up to three more entries, leave another comment to let me know what your top three favourite posts on theNotice are! (One extra entry per post listed.)
- Be human,, with no more than three arms,
- Be over the age of majority in your place of residence (or have parental consent,) and,
- Not have a criminal record with any murder or aggravated assault charges. Oh, and having a non-PO box mailing address would be nice, too.
- Burt’s Bees’ “grab bag” sounds really nifty! Five full-sized products, fourteen minis, and five “special gifts” (likely samples)? I smell a great deal.
- Blu’s gorgeous false lash placement; yet another thing I can’t do.
- Two skintones, two highlighters: he new Shimmer Brick looks ah-mazing on Karen, and Heatheresque’s (formerly TSS) Cashmere Stockings is gorgeous on Charlotte!
- A $7 LORAC cream/powder shadow duo. Tempted? Why yes, yes I am.
- Another thing that’s majorly tempting me? Benefit’s Stay Put set. I’ll just
ditch the concealer by the side of the roadhave to find some unassuming beauty lover to give the concealer to. - You miss the good old days when LipSmackers were acceptable to whip out at your desk!
I talked about it, thought about it, got everything ready… and promptly forgot about it. But, with this Monday’s B-Ray-infused EOTD, now is the perfect time to give away a pan!
Sounds good? Well, here’s how to enter...
Rules and regulations: you must…
A quick note about B-Ray: this is not the only pan (well, probably not the only pan) I will be featuring in a giveaway, so don’t lose sleep over this! I’ll also head to Sephora as soon as I have the time to swatch up a storm and try to find you lovely ladies a dupe :) So far, I’ve gone through pretty much the whole drugstore and come up empty-handed…
Ellie Goulding
Lancome’s Friends and Family sale (click to enlarge to a VERY LARGE SIZE if you’d like to print it!)
A new Pixiwoo video with my favourite winged liner tip (“stencil” the flick first with shadow) and a lovely lip shade (OCC Anime.) I know the lip tar is on a few of your wishlists, so I just had to include this video!
And a couple more, without images:
I have my Chemistry final today, which is worth 50% of my final grade. So yah, I’m basically a bunch of nerves right now, seeing as it’s my second-worst subject (bested only by Calc.)
So, instead of a normal post, here are some photos for you…
I complain about the lack of ‘cones in my life. A lot. So much so that we have an entire ‘cone-free label, with many reviews and talk yet to come.
When I opened up a recent package, I knew there would be a surprise in it… but, as suprises go, I had no idea what it would be.
Cones! That’s right, “‘cones” :) I’d like to issue a huge thank-you to my dear Isabel, so…
(Can I even say that? I mean, I know it translates over, but I’m not sure if you can say “ma chère” the same way you can say “my dear.” Then again, you can’t really say “my dear” in English anymore, either. I just kinda… do.)
But anyhow. Thank you so much for your kind gesture, Isabel! You cracked me up (as you often do) and completely made my day :)
Fun fact! This post made it from my MALM, to my camera, to theNotice’s front page in under twenty-four hours. This is an all-time record for us and our awful procrastination!
What it is: Burt’s Bees‘ new Rejuvenating Lip Balm with Açai Berry.
The Lip Smacker deal: it’s the smell! This smells just like a lip balm I had when I was little!* I feel like I’m five when I use this — even mother asked me where I had found a Lip Smackers when I got her to try this. (Eyes-closed testing, people!) Somehow, unless you really miss those days when you were five, I feel the Mango Butter lip balm (which launched simultaneously with this one) might be a better choice. But then again, I haven’t checked it out yet; perhaps it smells like candy or something!
note: I brought the balm with me to an exam (dedication) and had a few friends sniff it. Strawberry Lip Smackers; confirmed!
The moisture factor: Like the other Rejeuvenating Lip Balm I’ve tried, this isn’t as hydrating at the original Burt’s (or even as hydrating as the Honey version.) It’s about as moisturising as the Pomegranate balm, which is to say, it’ll be fine for normal lips, okay for dry lips, and not an option for very dry lips (like mine!)
The verdict? I would personally pass on this one, but then again, I was never into Lip Smackers**! I was always a Labello girl when I was little ;) Something to keep in mind, though, is that while these have a similar nostalgic scent, they’re a little more age-appropriate, and definitely impart more moisture than those old ‘smackers.
Try it if…
*Shut up. I know I’m still technically little, and at 5’2″, I always will be.
**I’m pretty sure I had all of one tube, and it was an original, thankyouverymuch. None of this “Dr. Pepper” nonsense.

Oh, and here’s the product page.
A few quick words on the Maybelline Colour Sensational line: My sister and I have been buying these like mad recently! Why? They’re paraben-free, and allllmost scent-free.
What I don’t like that there’s a lot of variability in the line (Warm Me Up is a gorgeous, stiff cream, whereas On The Mauve doesn’t glide on nearly as well,) though the shade range makes up for this if you ask me! The lesson? Swatch before you buy — it’s pretty obvious which shades boast the lovely formula that I can’t get enough of, and which ones are too hard to apply comfortably. As an added bonus, testers are worked right into the display racks, so they shouldn’t be too hard to find.
On The Mauve: A lustre leaning a touch towards the “frost” category; I’d call this a medium-dark grey-berry. Why the confusing name? Well, I like it… but there’s just something “off” about it. While it’s still a berry, it infringes on the whole “grape” thing, with an ashiness that hasn’t been translated very well into my photographs. (I’m sorry!) I’m not a huge fan of this colour, as it can look a bit dated.
Warm Me Up: A lovely MLBB (“my lips but better”) cream. The formula is a little harder than, say, a Revlon Super Lustrous, but I like it — the colour glides on just right, and one layer straight from the tube does the trick without having to blot. I find this looks very different on different skintones, but so far, I like it on all of them!
The verdict? Definitely recommended! Though there’s a huge difference between the shades, I’d say about 90% of them are just wonderful. (And the other 10% aren’t hard to puzzle out.) They go on smoothly, don’t settle into fine lines, and certainly don’t strip my lips of moisture.
Warm Me Up:
I’m just completely taken with Scarlett’s eyes from the Tony Awards ceremony — stunning! So here’s the question: do you want to see this look duped, or are you done with the violets? (Yes, I know I do a lot of them. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a good plum hue!) Let me know in the comments!
Here’s what was used on her beautiful lids:
via BellaSugar.com
[Makeup artist Gianpaolo Ceciliato] began by lining Scarlett’s inner and outer eyelids with Crayon Intense Eyeliner in Dahlia ($29). Next, he blended the purple shadow from the Eyeshadow Duo in Dazzling ($36) and the pink shadow from The Eyeshadow Duo in Guilty ($36) on her eyelids. [All Dolce&Gabbana cosmetics.] To complete the eye look, Gianpaolo applied several coats of black mascara on her top and bottom lashes.
And, of course, the best shots I could find on the interwebs:
note: they enlarge to get reallyreally big! Images credit Just Jared.
May I also mention that Scarlett was wearing one of my favourite designers, Elie Saab? One hell of a woman. (Or, quite possible, one hell of a stylist behind said woman!)
