After seeing the models’ eyes on the Chanel Fall 2011 runway, I knew that I had to try and dupe it. I absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous Épatant (one of three upcoming Illusion d’Ombre shadows) – it’s not quite green, not quite aqua, not quite blue… basically just perfection; undefinable perfection.
I can’t be the only one who’s currently revering Peter Phillips, right?
To get the eye…
Cover your lids (from lashline to brow) with a thin layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Then, using a flat shader brush (Cozzette D225), apply a sheer layer of FaceFront Artistic Pigment in Nylon Garden. Pick up a fluffy blending brush (Rock & Republic 203) and blend together a bit of Nylon Garden and theBalm Shady Lady in Jealous Jordana; apply this to the outer 2/3 of the eye.
Next, clean off your flat shader brush and apply Senna Kinetic (disc) under the outer 1/2 of your browbone. Clean off the brush and “pull” this colour onto the inner half as well. Then, using an angled eyeliner brush, apply this same shade to the tearduct area.
To finish the eye, draw on a messy kitten flick with Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Deep Charcoal and smudge thoroughly using a stiff brush (Cozzette D230). Line the upper and lower waterline with La Bella Donna Eye Pencil in Black, and use an angled brush to “push” this colour into your upper lashline as well. Curl lashes and apply Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Jumbo Lash Mascara.
To get the lip and cheek…
For the lip, apply a pinked nude lipstick (Marcelle Rouge Xpression Pearl lipstick in Romanesque). Contour cheeks (Smashbox Matte Eyeshadow in Smoke, disc) and blend well; no blush.
To get “Chanel Chic”
Cry for ages and beg. We mortals will never be this cute! (Or this underfed, so I’m alright with the way things turned out. I’ll take a sandwich over a size-zero any day, please and thank you!)
