Don’t miss this | Let’s talk alopecia.

A ramble/tutorial about hair loss, wigs, and faking it* here.

Plus, a few gifs (which were turned into PNGs on the She Said Beauty site) -

This last one’s relevant to all of our interests, because (let’s be honest), sparse lashes and brows aren’t just a problem for people on chemo drugs. A before and after with super-natural (supernatural!)¬†brow penciling + black liner in the lash line itself, rather than just above or below it:

*”It” being lashes and brows, that is. Get your mind out of the gutter.

Wonderful article on such sensitive topic, thank you so much!

  2. I always have to fill in my brows and put on tightline for the rest of my makeup to look decent, it makes such a big difference! So glad I'm not the only one!

Thanks for posting this. I read the She Said Beauty article, as this is very relevant for me (both lashes and brows are sparse) — I use brow pencils but mascara only seems to highlight how few lashes I have… will try the gel liner trick for the lash line.

  4. Thanks, Sara. I'm really glad you enjoyed the article!

  5. Nope, you're definitely not the only one! It's good to see another person out there who does brows + tightlining on a regular basis : )

  6. Glad you found the SSB article relevant, Sharon! :) Let me know how the liner goes, yeah?

  7. Hi Rae, can I ask what product and color you use to fill in your brows? I LOVE how natural they look. I have been obsessed with finding the right brow product for years–I hate the obviously-draw-in-brows look and am always open to new suggestions. Thanks!

  8. Hi Becca,

Sorry for the late reply! I typically use Smashbox Smoke (here) on my brows – a basic, matte grey. It's been discontinued, I'm afraid, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a dupe!

I've been testing out two new brow pencils over the past week or two as well, so reviews of those should be up soon ;)
