Fridays ARE really about you.

Friday, February 20, 2009

I’m clearly having the best month ever, and I wanted to share it. But my real-life “friends” aren’t makeup junkies (and the one who does wear makeup, upon hearing my good news, immediately blurted “Can I, like, have some of it?” – I know, it doesn’t sound all that terrible in text, but I was so repulsed. No “that’s great!” or “I didn’t know you actually wanted to go into makeup”, just insistence that lasted for minutes that I give her some stuff for free.)

Erm, where was I? Oh, right!

theNotice is having it’s first giveaway!!
I know – it’s about time! I’m not telling you what it’s for until the contest is over, though I guarentee there is makeup involved. It’s not some giant giveaway, just a little package of a couple things that I had kicking around in my drawers that I know I won’t use, and something out of the traincase from Betsy that I noticed there were two of!

How to enter
There are three ways – and each way will get you one entry. It’ll be random draw, and the contest ends in two weeks (March 6th) Here are the ways!

  1. Send an email to my.make.belive (at) gmail.com with your full name and address. I know what it’s like to be excluded from giveaways, so this contest is open worldwide! I’ll ship it the cheapest way possible, though, so if you’re in Singapore… don’t be expecting it in a week!
  2. Follow me on Blogger
  3. Send me a warm-fuzzies story* (this way’ll get you not one, not two, but three entries because I’d love to hear the stories and I know they take time!) at the email mentioned above.

Rules? Who needs rules!? Okay, we need rules. Only one entry per catagory, but that’s a total of five possible entries per person. Also, I’m not having this giveaway unless I get at least fifty entries - so get off your lazy arses and start entering! I have a hit counter. I know you’re out there. And hey, I betcha your blogger friends won’t hate you for telling them about a contest!

*What’s a warm-fuzzy story? Anything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside (duh!) It can be something you saw that was so utterly kind that you started glowing from the inside-out like a firefly on crack, or something you did (or had done to you) that just warmed you. Betsy’s act of giving me the traincase made me feel fantastic about myself, like I can take on the world and do whatever I put my mind to, and that’s the real reason for this giveaway, so I’d love to hear your stories as well!

Make sure not to send liquids anywhere though :)I am not putting my hat in for any makeup since I have all that I need (unless you have brown eyeliners in that contest)…But my warm fuzzy story was when I was in the convenience store the other day, about to stuff my face all alone at home with chips, pop and chocolate and a 7-year old girl in front was buying 2 chocolate bars. She had enough money to buy it, but she kept hemming and hawing at the counter for some reason. We couldn't figure out why but she kept insisting that she wanted change back and wouldn't have any if she bought 2.Finally, she told the lady to put back the one chocolate bar, paid for one, and put all of the money of the 2nd chocolate bar she could have had into a charity box that the owners had put up to collect money for homeless kids.It was so freaking cute that the owner of the store gave her the second chocolate bar for free.

  2. Oh yay, a warm fuzzy story! *reads*I love your story – and at seven! That's incredible. I mean, it's one thing for someone older to understand giving and such, but for a seven-year-old? I probably wouldn't have been able to restrain myself, and hugged the life outta that girl!Thank you <3

  3. awwww so very generous of you! Reading this whole thing made me feel warm and fuzzy inside :D

I'm trying to think of a warm and fuzzy story right now! I know I have one, but I'm sick and my head is swimming in… Urrrrmmm, some not so pleasant bacteria goop of a certain light yellow color. "Yuck!". Warm and fuzzy… The first thing I think of is my dog. Sounds cliche, but he is both literally and figuratively warm and fuzzy. Lst night when I was sick and sleeping on the couch, he came up and nuzzled his big golden-retriever head into my side and made little tender cries, as to say "mommy are you ok? I hope you feel better soon!" He's just the sweetest most sensitive creature I've met on this earth and I'm so lucky to call him my baby boy! I think all dogs are angels from the heavens!

  5. Caravan: I love your story! It's definitely warm and fuzzy, in all ways possible :P I've always wanted a little pet-child, and yours sounds like such an adorable little pup! *steals*Thank you for that! You've been entered :)
