The product: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-In Cream
What I liked about it: It smells good. I get that this is a personal thing, though, so beware: if you don’t like the scent, don’t buy it, because the scent hangs around!! Also, I only needed a pea-sized amount for my just-past-shoulder length hair; I tried more at the beginning, but it was just too much. And the price! Thank god for drugstore prices!
What I didn’t like about it: The scent could get a bit trying after the first hour. Also, you have to shake this product before you use it. I get that this is just a small side thing, but it bugs me – I like my maintenance routine to be as simple as possible! (Well, for each product. But y’a know, whatevs.)
After using it for two weeks (every other day, after I washed my hair): My hair does feel much softer! I bought this based on rave reviews for the line, as my hair was feeling a little crispy – possibly because of my Pantene dandruff shampoo? However, because it’s still so dry here, my hair is a staticy mess by midday, even though I’m using this.
The verdict: Good for slightly dehydrated hair, as it makes my hair feel much more like its normal self – smooth and silky. For the price, it’s a good buy, but don’t expect it to work wonders for static!
Product on trial: Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Ultra Smoothing Balm (WOW what a mouthful!). Link here, if you want a description. Basically, pump a touch into your hands, run through damp hair – you know the drill.
Price: I can’t remember the numbers, but I think I remember thinking that it was a bit expensive, for a drugstore product – and, though the packaging looks generous, you don’t get much product for your money.
Scent: Fine, I guess. Drugstore-quality; nothing special about it. The good news, though, is that there wasn’t anything horrifyingly disgusting about it, which is a good thing.
Packaging: Pictured. Basic, lightweight. I like the pump, it’s large and solid, doesn’t stick. There isn’t much product for the size of the container, though – not the best for travel, or for someone with a v. full beauty cabinet!
Effect on hair: Let me throw some words at you: crunchy. Sticky. Crispy. I didn’t have any less frizz or flyaways, and couldn’t find a sunny-side-up approach to this product!!
The bottom line: This is a waste of money. It doesn’t do anything for my hair but make it feel gross, and at the price, you may as well buy a travel-sized high-end product – you’re probably going to get the same amount in it!!
