Murale

Edmonton’s first Murale opened this past Thursday, and (of course,) it had to be checked out on the opening day.

What makes Murale different from Sephora is partially that they carry different brands and have worked in Optimum points, but mainly that they offer services as well. Ours has a Benefit Brow Bar and (like all Murale shops,) offers makeup lessons and makeovers. Additionally, there’s a station to be shampooed and blown out (or just blown out, for a smaller fee and quicker service,) as well as a table for manicures.

The one thing we really noticed was that on opening day, the Murale store had more staff in it than customers — no joke! It was the middle of the afternoon and mother counted seventeen sales associates just on one floor, which outnumbered the customers by a couple. Talk about irritating: no, I don’t want your help for the fourth time!

For a few quick and (crap-tastic) shots of the fragrance wall, run behind the cut!
(Ooh, plus a photo of a ridiculously pretty Shiseido lipstick.)

A few lines I spied while I was there:
brands in italics are not, for some strange reason, listed on the Murale site

  • Benefit
  • Bobbi Brown
  • Cargo
  • Chanel (fragrances only)
  • Clarins
  • Estee Lauder
  • GOSH
  • L’Oréal Paris (this looks so out of place!)
  • Lancôme
  • Lippmann Collection
  • Memoire Liquide
  • Molton Brown
  • Shiseido
  • Smashbox

I wasn’t really concerned with the other lines, but check here if you’re wondering what else they may stock!

The lipstick: Shiseido’s The Makeup Shimmering Lipstick in SL14. Talk about being ridiculously pretty in the tube!

Anyone else have a Murale story to share? I’d love to hear it in the comments!
