Just Bitten

Product: Revlon’s Just Bitten lip stain in Cherry Tart.

Price: $9 with a coupon out of FLARE a few months back.

Smell, taste, etc.: This product smells lightly of cherries, but it dissipates quickly. I haven’t tasted it, or anything along those lines, though… it is sticky until it begins to dry, which takes a second or two, but it tends to be completely dry in about half a minute, and lasts quite a while until it’s gone. I’ve been putting it on once in the morning and that’s it, as my lips look human after a few hours.*

Application: I dot on a glob of this on the middle of my lower lip and spread outwards with a slanted brush (an art one, it actually does a better job than my slanted brushes and my lip brush!) From there, I just take colour off the roller ball applicator with the brush and apply on my lips. Smoosh your top and bottom lips together to spread it, and line your lips with the slanted brush. (That way, you don’t end up with lipliner but no lip colour, as they’ll fade at the same rate)

The bottom line: This is a little too orange for me (I prefer true reds, or slightly blue-based reds, not orange-based reds), but aside from that, I quite like it! The vial (hee. Can I call it a vial? Tube? hm…) will last forever (and has an eighteen-months expiry date), and I’m confident that it will last me at least that long. I’ve used this every day since I bought it, even if it’s just a super-thin layer, and I love it. I don’t use it for super-colour or anything; it’s quite natural-looking when applied lightly.

*I bought this because when I wake up, I have what I like to call corpse-lips for a few hours, and I didn’t want the hassle of a lipstick. Basically, my lips look like they belong on some old dead grandmother somewhere, not someone like me. The blood returns to them sometime during second or third block, and I look normal again. Which is, you know, nice… :P
