Oh Mr Sunshine, I haven’t seen you in days. Oh Mr Sunshine, I wish you would stay for just a touch longer. Oh Mr Sunshine, where on earth did you go?!
Obviously, things in my neck of the woods have taken a very sudden and fairly drastic turn for the worse colder. It drizzles over half the time, and when it isn’t drizzling, it’s pouring. There’s a constant ominous cloud cover, and the mercury dropped a good ten degrees (Celsius) in just a week.
I know Autumn happens every year, but it never fails to catch me off guard. Suddenly, there’s only a few hours each week to photograph makeup; only a few hours each week to go for walks or see the sun at all! It does serve as an excuse to go a little more dramatic with the makeup, though, which we do so adore…

The lip:
Tip: when it comes to darks, glossier lips can be easier to wear than mattes… but it all depends! If you have a hydrating matte lipstick that you love (or an amazing lip balm that you adore to wear underneath,) you should be all set. But if you don’t, drier lips might not like matte finishes.
Glossy lips can also help add the illusion of fullness and minimize the look of lip lines, too! And, a lot of the time, they can look much less harsh. If you’re afraid of going dark, try something sheer and glossy, like Clinique’s Black Honey, or Crushed Grape.
