What it is: Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom

What it has:

  • Super-cute packaging,
  • An awesome price tag ($7),
  • Six great shades (with just the right amount of tint),
  • 100% natural ingredients (no phthalates, parabens, or silicones here), and
  • A light, synthetically fruity scent… that fades fast (hurrah!)

Ingredients:

Coconut oil, vegetable oil, beeswax, olive oil, candelilla wax, sunflower seed oil, flavour, lanolin, shea buter, castor seed oil, cananga odorata flower wax, jasmine flower wax, ammonium glycyrrhizinate, tocopherol, rosemary leaf extract, soybean oil, canola oil. +/- alumina, CI 77891, CI 75470, CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499.

A brief ramble: I’ve been on and off with Burts’ variations on their bestselling balm in the past, but this one’s a keeper! It does a great job keeping my lips moisturized and leaves them looking natural, hydrated, and plush. Without the scent (which does fade quite fast), they’d be HG material!

The verdict? I like this just as much as I like my Burt’s Lip Shimmers… which is really saying something, because I am a huge fan of those! (Check out our reviews of Nutmeg, Peony, and Caramel.) If you’re looking for a lightly tinted lip product that packs a punch of moisture, pick up one of these – I’m just dying to check out the other five shades!

Where did you find these? I live in edmonton too and I've been searching all the different shoppers but I can't find them! ThanksQ

  23. Mine was actually a press sample, but I could have sworn I spotted these at Shopper's the last time I was there! (Though I can't for the life of me remember which location – probably Ellerslie or Whyte?)

Good luck finding a tube; they're worth the hunt! :)

Thanks for the review Rae! I thought that these lips balms would be really sheer, but I just purchased the lip balm in Sweet Violet, and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised! I was a bit apprehensive about the purcahse because I had used the Honey Lip Balm from Burt's Bees previously and was REALLY disappointed with that – it had too strong of a honey scent, was way too waxy for my liking, and also didn't hydrate my lips. This product was MUCH better.

I love that it lets the natural texture of the lips show through, even though there is pigmentation to the lip tint – it's a perfectly translucent formula and doesn't leave the lips looking milky at all (for this particular shade at least). I thought it would be pretty sheer, but I actually can see the purple tint that this leaves! I thought it would pull more pink on me, but I think the colour is sheer enough that people who want to start experimenting with purple lips would definitely feel comfortable rocking this!

I think the reason I like this formula so much is because it contains coconut oil – that stuff works wonders on my lips. I'm going to try to use up my tube of Sweet Violet quickly; the next shade on my list of lippies to try is Pink Blossom or Petunia :D I've been looking for a lip balm with the colour that Benetint gives, so hopefully one of these two will hit the spot. Thanks for the review Rae! :D

  31. I'm so glad to hear that, Annabelle! (Especially as I HATED the Honey lip balm — these ones are so much better.)

I don't have Sweet Violet, but you're kind of making me want to! :P I think Pink Blossom and Petunia are pinker than Benetint (which is a lot more red on me); maybe Red Dahlia or Rose would be a closer match? But I do really love both of the pinks that I have — they're never milky, no matter how light, and are just sheer enough. <3
