The Week of Awesome: a weekend recap

Sunday, February 24, 2013

So, it turns out that I actually can’t manage a post a day any more, even when I have a week off. (Surprised? Nope, neither am I.)

Here’s what we covered during The Week of Awesome:

YSL Spring look - Week of Awesome

YSL Arty Stone makeup lookClinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm

7 Clinique Broadest Berry swatch Grandest Grape

Clinique Chubby Stick Intenses

Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow palette review

Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadows

Going forward, I think this week is going to be a Clarins one — I should probably review the Rouge Eclat collection before it’s off the shelves entirely! (The Sephora and Clinique followups will be delayed by a week, but they’re both permanent ranges — I think you’ll be okay to wait.)

Have a great week, lovelies. I hope you enjoy the Clarins Spring 2013 collection!

COMING UP | The Week of Awesome

Sunday, February 17, 2013

As you may have noticed (by which I mean I know you’ve noticed, so please don’t punch me on sight,) the posting schedule on theNotice has been a little patchy recently.

The Week of Awesome instagram

To make up for it, and hopefully start catching up on the massive backlog of products I have cluttering up my shooting table, I’m trying for a post a day (but only for a week). And, because a post a day is a lot for both your feed readers and my sanity, the five (weekday) posts will showcase a something that I think is, for lack of a better word, awesome.

In total, I hope to cover one look, three reviews, four different product lineups, thirteen different shades… and each of them a must-have. So: buckle your seatbelts, shake off a little seriousness, and get ready for a solid week of things I love.

I hope you enjoy the series!

Clarins Rouge Eclat, Instagram, and Anastasia Bold & Beautiful | A brief update…

Thursday, January 17, 2013

I feel like I’ve managed to get away with surprisingly few “teaser” posts recently, but that is possibly just because I’ve been cheating & not posting at all. Either way, here’s a brief update on why there isn’t a proper post for today!

(But not an actual, proper post. Apologies.)

Clarins Rouge Eclat (Spring 2013)

Clarins Palette Eclat - Rouge Eclat Spring 2013 face palette

Clarins Rouge Eclat Face Palette (Palette Eclat) & Rouge Eclat Lipstick (in Red Wine)

I wanted to have a teaser up for this today, but it just didn’t happen — I was up until three editing photos before I gave up and went to bed. I always overshoot collections (one of the main reasons why it takes me so long to get new material up on the blog), and the hundreds of images were just too overwhelming.

A snap review, though: Spring this year is going to be amazingI am absolutely loving the bits of Clarins Rouge Eclat that I have on hand; from the gorgeous detailing, to the textures and pigment… the collection is quite impressive so far, even by Clarins’ own high standards.

[Finally] On Instagram: theNotice

No promises, but we’ll see how it goes. Follow here for early teasers, trivial updates, and the occasional makeup look/full-face swatch!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Bold & Beautiful Kit

Another “coming up”! I just got this one yesterday (haven’t even opened it up to swatch yet), but I am so smitten with the aesthetic — the entire concept is based around classic novels & book characters; how awesome is that?

Out next month (February 2013) as part of the brand’s Spring offerings.

Have a wonderful Thursday, my dears!

Housekeeping, GFC, and an important notice for email subscriptions

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Non-web-geeks and non-emails-subscribers: skip this post!

(Because it’s boring and won’t be relevant to you, not because I love you any less.)

Just wanted to note that (a) Google Friend Connect is still working on theNotice, and (b) I just realized that you can totally customize your feedburner account.

In regards to the latter: if you’re reading through an email subscription, please note that future emails will be coming from webadmin@thenotice.net. I’m not entirely sure how or why, but apparently emails used to go out from my seventh-grade personal email address, which is… weird and extremely uncomfortable. Anyhow; please update your address books accordingly!

For the former: I’m not entirely sure what happened, because GFC is not supposed to work on self-hosted WordPress blogs, but theNotice’s feed still seems to be working. It’s a good thing, though, so I’m just going to keep my head down and try not to ask too many questions. Just wanted to touch base with you guys, in case you were wondering why the widget hadn’t gone down!

That’s it for today – sorry for interrupting your beauty feed, and I’ll talk to you all soon with some exciting Spring launches ;)

Just a heads-up…

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Not quite sure when it’ll happen, but theNotice will be down for a bit later today (Wednesday, April 4th) for a server migration. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I’ll see you later tonight with some more Vasanti!

If you’re terribly bored and in need of your daily fix of Rae you have any pressing comments, questions, or concerns, feel free to poke at me on Twitter (@theNotice) or drop me an email (rae [at] thenotice.net).

Please try not to be eaten by a wild animal while the site’s down,
