New 14/10/12: Holiday launches from Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, & more

Sunday, October 14, 2012

Is it just me, or has this year gone by ridiculously fast? It feels like just last week that we were gearing up for the summer season’s onslaught of new launches (by which I mean: foundations, foundations, foundations), and now Holiday collections are starting to tumble in.

Clearly, the makeup world never got the memo that you totally can’t sell Christmas ornaments before Halloween, the free market be damned.

With sets and palettes from Bobbi Brown, Yves Saint Laurent, Laura Mercier, & more, though — the holidays do look like they’re going to be rather exciting this year.

Stay tuned for the Dior and Guerlain Holiday 2012 collections! I haven’t had time to put them together, but god, they look gorgeous.

P.S. What even, Tom Ford:

I get that you’re a “luxury” beauty line. I really do. But – $365 for an (albeit shiny and soft-looking) brush set? Really?

That Giorgio Armani Red Lip Set!!! I die!!!

I really like Parure de Lumiere. At the moment I rotate it with Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion. Particularly for days on which my skin feels drier, it's a godsend! It's great for faking that little glow winter skin often lacks :)

  2. $365 for five brushes?! Oh dear lord. But at the same time, they look so so so luxuriously soft and perfect… oof!

  3. O.o 365 … days a year? no $$$ for a brush set! … I prefer Chikuhodo or Hakuhodo *shrugs*, I think their pricing reflects their thinking: we are special and don't sell crap. I like TF blushes and yet have to try an eyeshadow palette but I never would buy their brushes D:

Look at all the pretty launches! Why do I not have a make-up trust fund?

  6. It’s an Estée Lauder brand… Maybe they’ve improved the formula since but the first time I played with TF makeup all I thought was OILYMESS.

I also am partial to Japanese brushes of course :)

Lovely launch roundup, soulmate! Most of the holiday collections are out at counters here already and I haven’t been moved to purchase so yay! More sweaters for me

  7. Haha, those brushes are made of gold and unicorn hair, right?

I checked out some of the Bobbi Brown and Aerin stuff. Very pretty but not that tempting in the end!

Given they are by Tom Ford, they are probably made from gold, unicorn hair and his ego. (His ego is what drives the price.)
