New 10/06/12
Sunday, June 10, 2012
Strangely enough, nothing’s really launched in the past two weeks — a mid-Spring lull, if you will, in preparation for the Summer. And while it’s a bit odd, I have to admit it’s a nice little break; gives all of us a bit more time to focus on some of the (frankly, rather brilliant) launches of this season before the onslaught of next season’s.
One thing that did really catch my eye, though, is that Bare Escentuals has yet another Get Started kit out: an $80CAD boxed set with a few more products, a small carrying case, and no DVD.
It feels a bit like the end of an era, like there’s been a revolution and it’s now being forgotten. I still remember when the original kit launched; how much of a splash it made. The first mass-market mineral powder, ladies and gentlemen. It’s going to change how you think about foundation.
(But did it? Did they change foundation for you?)

I agree, it’s nice not to have many new launches and for once I wasn’t interested in the Mac ones, I’m hoping June will be the month when I actually get to stick to my monthly beauty budget. Mac has already taken care of my July budget, I want all the mineralize stuff from Heavenly Creatures.
I picked up the new YSL bronzer, it is so pretty. I tried the Amazing Cosmetics pressed mineral powder in the past. I must say as the name implies, it is Amazing! They have a new liquid foundation out in the US, not sure if it is available in Canada yet.

Haha, I've actually been doing a really good job sticking to my beauty ban so far this year! I might break it for a Casual Color pot (multi-use products always get me; ugh), but I've yet to check them out in person, so I guess we'll play it by ear.
I'm not super-excited about Heavenly Creatures, but that might change, too — I'm still waiting for photos of those mineralize products! ;)
Oh, don't tempt me! :p The powder is 'cone free, and I keep hearing such good things about it – I don't really need another powder base product right now, though, so I'm trying to hold off >.<
Agree that the lull is nice. Now if we could only impose a lull on MAC of at least 6 months…or more. Did BE change the way I think about foundation? Yes. I cannot and will not wear a mineral foundation that is shiny in finish. No can do the greasy look. I have tried a few other BE products since but have to say I hated every one of them.
Love your blog and writing style.
Ha! Oh, I wish we could :D A limit of X number of collections a year would be so refreshing!
Anyhow. Thanks for sharing your BE experience, Deb – I haven't actually tried out their foundation (I know; shame, shame), but I can't stand a shiny mineral foundation, either. It's satin-mattes all the way, for me!
Glad you're enjoying theNotice, lovely :) Thank you!
