MAC Ruffian: behind the scenes

Thursday, June 28, 2012

MAC Cosmetics opened up a Tumblr a while back, but (and, please, correct me if I’m wrong,) I kind of feel like no one actually reads it.

Despite the fact that they post a lot of behind-the-scenes material, from tutorials to various Fashion Week looks, I very rarely hear anyone talking about the material that goes up on their photo blog. I don’t know; maybe I’m just hanging out in the wrong circles, but I feel like brands’ Tumblr pages rarely “take off,” especially when you put them in comparison with their Twitter or Facebook accounts.

Anyhow; here’s a quick look at their behind-the-scenes photos for the MAC Ruffian collection (via). Enjoy!

And a quick spread of the products (yes, there really are only six of them), in case you were curious about names & etc…

  1. MAC has a tumblr? (and there's the answer to your assumption LOL).

The Ruffian feels like a slightly old nail trend to me, but I do like their black-and-gold version.

  2. Haha, pretty much. Exists, gets updated, and… nada. No one ever talks about any of it! The Ruffian post is still stuck at a whole 118 notes, and the thing's been up all bloody week.

    /sighs. Poor, lonely MAC tumblr.

  3. Yeah I don't use Tumblr at all (or Facebook or Twitter really…just started for the blog :P) so I didn't know they had a Tumblr either. The Ruffian collection really wasn't all that exciting to me–but then again, there are so many collections from them that it takes a lot to excite me these days

  4. Gah. Exactly how I feel – there are just so many collections (esp. coming from MAC) nowadays that things just… aren't just exciting by merit of being LE anymore, you know? Like, Heavenly Creatures; not excited at all. :(

  5. I am strangely drawn to the red almond-shaped press-ons….hmm

I had no idea MAC had a tumblr account. That's a real shame. Why don't they promote it on their fb or twitter? Well, now I know I will be checking that out :) thank you for sharing! xo

  10. Enjoy the blog, Fleur! I'm always so confused when companies put a lot of effort into their blog, be it on tumblr or otherwise, and then just… never mention it elsewhere. You'd think if you were putting up all the content either way, you'd want to make sure it was getting as much exposure as possible!
