This GHD ad has been banned - because it is “causing religious offence”.

Honest truth? I kinda like it. I like how there are beautiful women of different nationalities, and different languages - not to mention, everything about the ad is gorgeous.

Thoughts, anyone?

  1. Gorgeous ad. Loved it and didn't mind the "Thy Will Be Done" part. Maybe if more people thought of (G)od as a female, they'd get the humor in it. (Obviously a female (G)od would want everyone to have gorgeous hair! :) ) I also liked the one with the little girl saying "p*ss off and die you wanker". It always amazes me that the general public readily accepts ads that demean women, but rejects those that challenge us to see women in a more powerful way.

  2. I'm a little stunned by how well that was stated! (Because it was done very well, not because I expected less from a brilliant woman like you)May I ask, though, why (G) is with brackets?

  3. It's a way of making the standard capitalization of "God" more neutral. I usually write god this way or in lower case — which is a way of saying that god could be of any religious derivation as opposed to what many Americans think of as a Christian god (male/white… possibly sitting on a golden throne). P.S. I asked god what she thought about that and she's fine with no capitals. ;)

  4. Lol!!TVM: I hadn't heard of that before, it's actually quite interesting! hmm…

*puzzled* I like the ad too. It's very witty, fun and a bit naughty at the same time
