Welcome back… hopefully all this craziness you have upcoming goes by quickly and smoothly!Oh, I read your post about the iron deficiency… that really sucks! One of my best friends is anemic (and vegetarian!) and when she's not getting enough iron, she starts to crave non-edible, gritty things. Like sand or concrete. It's crazy bizarre. Anyway, because of her, I always notice iron content in foods, and apparently, Oatmeal Crisp Cereal (General Mills) has 50% of the recommended iron intake per serving. (Can't find a link for it… the American site says 30% iron and the box looks different, but I just checked the box that I have, and it says 50%)I mean, of course you know way more than I do about what you need/like to eat. But I just thought I'd mention it, because it's surprisingly yummy and apparently pretty healthy. I have Maple Nut, but Walmart had a bunch of different flavours… really crispy and great w/ vanilla yogurt too!Okay, now I sound like some granola dietician / William Shatner. "All my bran to you, Rae!" :D
Did you check the portion sizes? That's probably where they're different…I eat oatmeal crisp, occasionally. But I hate cereal on the whole (granola-based ones are all I'll eat), so when I do, it's rare.I'm eating my iron, though! (Sorta. I'm kinda not really eating my three meals a day, but I promise to post about that later today.)
